Retinopathy
NHS retinopathy screening carried at new diagnosis and annually thereafter

Arrange emergency ophthalmological review if:

• sudden loss of vision

• rubeosis iridis (abnormal vessels on anterior iris)

• pre-retinal or vitreous haemorrhage

• retinal detachment

• neovascularisation on the retina
